Early Book on Gettysburg

!!!_gettyb1.jpg (81492 bytes)This is an early book, written in 1924 by L.W. Minnigh, who was an author, lecturer, and battlefield guide. It is filled with information, a map from the year 1863 depicting all regiment movements and unit movements for the entire area surrounding Gettysburg, illustrations, and photos of many of the key players in the Battle of Gettysburg as well. As it says on the inside cover,  "profusely illustrated historical guide book," and that, it   is! The various battles are described, in detail, as it lists the Union and Confederate Divisions, Brigades, Regiments, and Battalions, by Corps, includes "Reminiscences of Gettysburg in Prose and Poetry, and even includes a "Memoriam" of both Federal and Confederate officers. There are many, many other interesting writings, too numerous to list here! This is a very unique book, which would be great for those who wish to add to their collection of Civil War/Gettysburg memorabilia. The cover of the book is almost perfect in its graphics, except for a small but neat rip in the lower left corner which fits back into place, and the pages are clean and perfect inside. Copyright 1924 by Tipton & Blocher. This is a softbound book (168 pages), and considering it is 77 years old, is in excellent condition!
